Key Qualifications
- Previous experience as a CVOR Tech or in a related nursing support role within cardiovascular operating rooms
- Proficient in assisting with specialized equipment and instrumentation used in open-heart and other cardiac procedures
- In-depth knowledge of sterilization techniques and surgical asepsis
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Valid certification as a Surgical Technologist or equivalent, as required
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, and check surgical instruments and supplies required for CVOR procedures
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgeries, anticipating needs and handling instruments promptly
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques throughout all procedures
- Collaborate with nursing staff to monitor and ensure patient safety before, during, and after surgeries
- Participate in room turnover and setup, ensuring all equipment is clean, functional, and in place for each case
- Accurately document instrument and supply usage as required by facility guidelines
